Ok, the problem should be fixed but I advise all users to login to check their accounts. As always, you PM me here or email me directly if you need help. The system should also let you reset your password on the new system assuming you have not changed your e-mail address. I'm banging out some auto-redirect code so you'll simply jump to the new server. That should be up soon.

Hello friendly Sony TR World people,

I'll be doing some house cleaning on the site over the next couple of days since I'm looking at migrating the forum to some different software. As such, I will be going through all the dead or non-active accounts and deleting them. So, if you've created an account and never posted then you'll likely lose your account.

If your account gets deleted you'll have to re-register. I'm sorry that there isn't an easier way to handle this but we have a spam problem and I'm having to resort to this. Most regulars won't be affected at all.

I'll keep you updated before I do anything super drastic.

Ok from what I read so far it that's the conclusion i came to there's even a site selling the chip for this reason, do you know where it is stored?

Well I looked everyone to see if it was a software problem and more than likey it is the hardware. I called Sony and it's $279.00 to replace the webcam so I just bought one to plug in for the time being. It sucks that this happens so frequently.

Well found bushman, from reading the pdf & measuring the socket I conclude this is what would be the same plug as on Hitachi ribbon:-

Panasonic Narrow Pitch-Type P5KS

15.75 mm L

5.00 mm H

AXK5S50047YG 5.0mm (mated height) 50 contact Tough Contact Socket

AXK6S50547YG 5.0mm (mated height) 50 contact Tough Contact Header

The contact socket is the same part whatever, the change in height either higher or lower is gained by changing the header so higher / lower may work better with a custom plug.

so for instance:-

4mm (mated height) = AXK6S50447YG

6mm (mated height) = AXK6S50647YG

However unless you wanted to get involved in soldering a new header on the mobo you are stuck with the height it is now, the socket is one size fits all
